I'm Shannon Davis, a wife, a mom of two adventurous kids, and a firefighter/paramedic from Kansas. I've spent most of my adult life working multiple jobs and doing my best to keep up with work, family, and everything in between. 

Etsy has changed everything. I had no design background and had never sold anything online. I was designing in whatever pockets of time I could find, usually in the school pick-up line or while cooking dinner, with no real idea if any of it would go anywhere. I just kept showing up.

It turns out that was enough. My shop has since hit 15,000 sales, and it grew without ever asking me to choose between it and my family or my job, it just fit into the life I already had. If you're waiting for the perfect plan or the perfect moment before you start something of your own, you don't need either. You just need to begin.
