ABOUT HANNA:

I’m Hanna, a multi-passionate, stay at home-homeschool mom of two! I am a practicing community herbalist who specializes in mother first herbalism specifically for those years after postpartum. I started my apothecary on Etsy in November 2025, it's been what I would consider a success, but it wasn't my first shop, and wasn't my first niche (did I mention multi-passionate?). I adore Etsy's platform, and I'm here to stay!

I LOVE to share my journey, ideas, and help others grow too. I'm an open book!

EPISODE SUMMARY:

In this episode of "How to Sell Your Stuff on Etsy," I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Hanna, one of my earliest coaching clients and a true embodiment of the multi-passionate entrepreneur. Our conversation was a delightful fireside chat, where we explored her journey from baking sourdough to creating herbal teas, all while navigating the challenges of motherhood and living off-grid.

We kicked off the episode by reminiscing about how Hanna was my third Etsy coaching client back in 2021. Since then, she has built multiple successful Etsy shops, each reflecting her evolving interests and the trends of the marketplace. Hanna shared her initial foray into Etsy with print-on-demand products, which quickly transitioned to baking when she discovered her knack for sourdough. Her baking business took off, shipping to all 50 states, but after facing burnout and a significant life change—moving off-grid—she pivoted back to print-on-demand and eventually to creating unique, handcrafted hats.

As we delved deeper into her story, Hanna recounted the challenges of running a business while living in a remote area, including the creative solutions she devised to manage shipping and production. Despite the success of her hat business, she eventually recognized the need for a change and took a year off to recharge and explore new interests.

During her time off, Hanna rediscovered her passion for herbalism, a journey that began in high school with a mentor who introduced her to the world of plants. This newfound interest blossomed into a thriving Etsy shop focused on herbal teas, specifically designed to support mothers dealing with anxiety and overstimulation. We discussed how her personal experiences with mental health and motherhood inspired her to create products that resonate with other moms.

Hanna's ability to identify and capitalize on emerging trends was a key theme throughout our conversation. She shared insights on how she instinctively aligns her products with cultural movements, such as the growing interest in natural living and wellness. We also touched on her strategic approach to keyword research and product positioning, emphasizing the importance of understanding market demands.

As the episode wrapped up, Hanna reflected on her decision to step back from social media, highlighting the importance of mental health and finding balance in entrepreneurship. She expressed her excitement about returning to Etsy, where she feels she can build a sustainable business without the pressures of constant online engagement.

This episode is packed with valuable insights for anyone looking to launch or grow their Etsy shop, especially those who may feel multi-passionate or overwhelmed. Hanna's journey is a testament to the power of resilience, adaptability, and following one's passions. Join us as we explore the evolution of her entrepreneurial spirit and the lessons she's learned along the way.
